Along with our great food and good vibes, we also host awesome special events!
For the past two summers, we’ve hosted our wildly popular Summer Concert Series, which is organized and curated by our own Island baby Ivy Mairi. Our concerts feature a wide variety of music, from folk duos to soulful funk to Zimbabwean Chimurenga, and more! Our shows happen outdoors on the beautiful garden patio, and each one features delicious dinner specials. A number of musicians who have played our series describe it as a “mini folk festival” – there are young kids, their parents, and grandparents dancing on the green in front of the stage, the bands hang out after the concert around the bonfire, and you always leave the shows having made a couple new friends! All our events are pay-what-you-can!
In 2013 we celebrated our second annual Long Weekend Arts Festival over the labour day long weekend! For details about our celebration of food, music, and community (and to see who played this year) see our Long Weekend page.
How the shows work….
All shows begin at 7pm (unless otherwise specified), and are pay-what-you-can admission. Special dinner menu service starts at 5:30pm. Take the 5:30, 6:15, 7:00, or 7:45 ferries to Ward’s Island. All shows are family-friendly, and dancing on the green is encouraged! For more information about the series, or to join our mailing list, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, like us on facebook, or follow us on twitter.
