Sunday-Thursday we are open 8am-8:30pm

Friday and Saturday we are open 8am-9pm

We are now licensed to serve beer and wine! We are proud to feature 3 local beers on tap, as well as a selection of Ontario and international wines. Enjoy a glass of wine with your dinner, or pull up a stool to our beautiful outdoor bar for an evening drink!

Stay tuned for announcements about our 2012 Summer Concert Series! The Series, which was a huge hit last summer, is returning bigger and better for 2012! Expect more great music, as well as cross-collaborations with local visual and dance artists. Our concert curator Ivy Mairi is hard at work firming up our 2012 schedule, to be announced very soon! Look out for our first event in late-June!

TORONTO ISLAND GRANNIES IN SPIRIT HOUSE AND HISTORY TOUR

We at the Island Cafe are really looking forward to this year’s Toronto Island House and History Tour, a fundraiser for the Stephen Lewis Foundation hosted by the Toronto Island Grannies in Spirit. On Sunday June 10th, House Tour participants get a chance to see inside Island homes and community buildings, meet Island residents, view historic photographs and memorabilia at the Ward’s Island Clubhouse and catch Random Acts of History. We welcome participants to come enjoy lunch at the Cafe during their tour! For more information on the event, visit their website here.

As soon as the weather permits the café will be open on weekends (April/May).  We will be open 7 days a week starting May 24^th long weekend.  Things to look forward to this season include:

-       The Island Café is now licensed to serve beer and wine!!! We are in the process of sourcing beer and wine from local Toronto breweries and Ontario Wineries.  Come and sample creative cocktails on our beautiful garden patio!

-       We are thrilled that our island’s own Jana Roerick, baker extraordinaire, will be our staff baker this summer.  Jana owned and operated Jana’s Bake Shop on Salt Spring Island for many years and is the author of Flour Power.

-       The always effervescent Ivy Mairi is busy planning a concert and cultural program for this season!  Stay tuned for announcements about our Friday night concert series, Salons and much more.  You can check out Ivy Mairi’s music on her MySpace page.

After an amazing spring and summer, we’ve finally reached the time for the final concert of the 2011 season. On Friday Sept 30th, we’ll go out with a bang at our End-of-Season Celebration which will feature the incredible musical stylings of the Lemon Bucket Orkestra – Toronto’s only Balkan-Klezmer-Gypsy-Party-Punk Super-Band!
